Between 1970 and 1978 the New Seekers were featured on 44 episodes of Top Of The Pops, including five appearances (1976-78) after Lyn Paul had left the group. For Lyn, appearing on Top Of The Pops was always a 'big deal'. As she told Shaun Tilley in an interview recorded in 2012:"We used to say: ‘When are we going on 'Top Of The Pops'? Don’t they want us on 'Top Of The Pops'? Why aren’t we on?’ ... It was always such a big thing to be on there... People from America, from all over the world, were coming in to do 'Top Of The Pops'… Every time there was a record out it was: ‘When are we going on? When are we going on?" (BBC Radio Sussex and BBC Radio Surrey, Top Of The Pops Playback).
In 1987 the New Seekers (at the time down to four members - Marty Kristian, Paul Layton, Donna Jones and Mick Flinn) were featured on Top Of The Pops, albeit fleetingly, on the Ferry Aid video Let It Be. The video was featured on the show three times - on 2nd, 9th and 16th April.
Long before he had joined the New Seekers Mick Flinn appeared on Top Of The Pops as a member of The Mixtures. The group's number 2 hit The Pushbike Song was featured on the show four times in 1971 - on 14th January, when it was played over shots of the studio audience dancing, on 28th January, 11th February (video) and 25th February. The Mixtures made one further appearance on Top Of The Pops, performing their follow-up single, Henry Ford, on the episode broadcast on 29th April.
Almost two years after leaving the New Seekers Danny Finn appeared on Top Of The Pops as one of the lead singers in the group Prima Donna, performing the UK's entry in the 1980 Euroovision Song Contest.
Lyn Paul is the only member of the New Seekers to have appeared on the show as a solo artist.
Lyn's sister Nikki Belsher appeared on Top Of The Pops in 1991 as a backing singer for Samantha Janus.
Former New Seeker Nicola Kerr appeared on Top Of The Pops in 1984 as a backing singer for Murray Head.

You Won't Find Another Fool Like Me was this week's 'Tip For The Top'. The New Seekers performed the song minus Marty, who had been delayed in Venice by "plane difficulties".
Lyn Paul (interviewed by Shaun Tilley in 2014) recalled this appearance on Top Of The Pops: "I was a very good friend of Alvin Stardust. He was doing his very first 'Top Of The Pops'… and he couldn’t remember his lyrics. He had to keep stopping and starting. And I kept winking at him, saying ‘It’s all right, it’s all right’… He’s a very humble guy. He kept saying ‘I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry’ and nobody cared."
